Oatmeal
Carmelitos Bars

Oatmeal Base:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups
quick cooking oats
- 3/4
cup packed brown sugar
| - 1-1/4 cup softened butter
- 1
tsp. baking soda
- 1
tsp. salt

Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13" x
9" baking pan.
- In
a large bowl, beat base ingredients with electric mixer on low speed
until
crumbly. - Reserve 1/3 of the crumb mixture for
topping.
- Press
remaining crumb mixture in bottom of pan. Bake 10
min.
Remove from
oven and add filling mixture.
Filling:
- 12 oz. jar Carmel Ice Cream Topping
(option: use
Sugar Free Carmel topping)
| - 3 TBS flour
- 1 cup
chocolate chips
- ½
cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:
- While
base is baking combine caramel topping and 3 TBS flour in a small
bowl.
Set aside. - Sprinkle the chocolate chips and nuts
over the baked
base. Drizzle evenly with the caramel mixture. Sprinkle with
reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake 18 ? 22 minutes or
until golden
brown.
- Cool completely in pan on rack.
- Cut
into
bars. Refrigerate 1 - 2 hours or until filling is set.
